Your first visit

How the appointment goes, how long to allow and how the deposit works: everything worth knowing before you book.

A first visit to a new nail artist is always a bit of an unknown. So everything clients usually ask once they are already in the chair is here: how the appointment goes, how long it takes, and what happens if something comes up.

Booking
You see the free slots straight away. Your first booking takes a €20 deposit, which comes off the price of the service in full.
Consultation
We choose the shape, length and colour together and look at the condition of your nails, then tell you honestly what will look best and last longest on them.
Preparation
A Russian manicure with no soaking, sterilised metal tools and single-use files.
Your hour
Building, colour or nail art. You are the only client in the studio, so nothing is rushed.
Finish
Cuticle oil, advice for care at home and, if you like, your next appointment booked.

I look at your nails before I suggest anything. If a shorter length will hold better, I will tell you.

What state can your nails be in

Any. Short, soft or bitten nails, or nails thinned by a bad removal, are nothing to be embarrassed about and no obstacle: we start from where they are now. They are exactly where good preparation shows most. We will tell you honestly what can be done on your nails today and what in a few weeks.

We would rather move the appointment only if you have an open cut, inflammation, a wart or a suspected fungal infection next to the nail. That is not a refusal; it protects you and the client who comes after you. More on this under hygiene and sterilisation.

How long to allow

Nail extensions: about two hours, a little longer with nail art.
Gel polish or BIAB: about an hour and a half.
Infills and pedicures: somewhat less than extensions.

There is one client in the studio at a time, so the appointment is never rushed and you do not need to watch the clock. If you are running late, let us know: we shorten or move the appointment, depending on how much time is left.

The €20 deposit on your first booking

Looking at free slots and creating an account commit you to nothing. When you confirm an appointment you pay a €20 deposit, which comes off the price of the service in full, so it is not an extra cost. It is charged only on your first booking; once you are a client, you never pay it again.

If you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, the deposit is refunded in full. For a later cancellation or a missed appointment we charge 50% of the service price, with the deposit counted towards it. The exceptions, such as illness or the statutory 14-day withdrawal, are set out in the terms and conditions.

What to bring, and what to tell us

A photo of the look you like, if you have one in mind. We will tell you beforehand whether it works on your nails. If you are not sure what you want, we choose together.
Allergies and sensitivities. If you have ever had itching, redness or swelling after gel, acrylic or glue, tell us before the appointment. What that means is explained under safety and allergies.
Pregnancy. Let us know; some clients prefer gel polish to extensions during that time.
For a pedicure, come without polish on your toenails unless we applied it. There is no need to soak your feet: we work dry.

Where we are, and parking

The studio is at Dunajska cesta 13 in Ljubljana. There is parking in front of the building, a few steps from the door. The Razstavišče bus stop is right by the building, and the main railway and bus station is a few minutes’ walk away. The map and bus lines are on the contact page.

Payment

You pay at the studio, or by card when you book online; you can also settle in advance with Flik. Prices are on the price list. If it turns out during the appointment that something more is needed, we agree on it before we do it, so there are no surprises on the price.

After your visit

We finish with cuticle oil and explain how to look after your nails at home. If a nail lifts completely within the first week, we repair it free of charge. It makes sense to book your next appointment as you leave: the infill is due in three to four weeks. Everything about care at home is under nail care.
