Luna
Nails are work with your hands and work with people at the same time. So you will find no production line here: one appointment, one client, the whole of that time given to one pair of hands.
She has worked with nails for twelve years. The trade has changed several times over that period — materials, shapes and the approach to the cuticle are not what they were — so training is part of the job rather than an extra. She works mainly by the Russian method, because it gives the cleanest edge and lasts the longest.
What she specialises in
- Russian manicure. Dry cuticle work with an e-file, with no soaking and no nippers. A cleaner edge that stays neat for longer.
- Extensions on a form and on a tip. In gel or acrylic gel, in lengths from S to XL — the length of your own nail is no obstacle.
- Gel polish and BIAB. For anyone who prefers short nails and building on the natural nail.
- Infills. Regular work every three to four weeks that keeps a set alive instead of replacing it.
- Nail art and design. From French and baby boom through to detailed nail art and 3D work.
- Pedicure by the Russian method. Cosmetic, not medical — what that means is explained under services.
How we work
There is one client in the studio at a time. That is not a logistical detail but a decision: extensions are precise work, and someone waiting pushes you to hurry. It is also why we take no walk-ins — appointments are by arrangement, which means the time you book really is yours.
We work mainly by the Russian method: the cuticle is worked dry, with an e-file, with no soaking and no nippers. The edge is cleaner for it and stays neat longer. The same method is the basis of our pedicures.
Training
The nail trade does not stand still. Materials that were the standard a few years ago have been replaced by better ones, and the approach to the cuticle has changed considerably in the same period. So training here is not something that ends with one completed course — it is part of the regular work.
Luna regularly attends further training and professional workshops working with new materials, shapes and techniques. What proves itself in practice comes into the studio; what does not, stays out. For a client that means two things: the technique she gets has not been stuck at what was current years ago, and new things are not tried out on her.
We work exclusively with professional systems — the ones European rules reserve for professional use — and check the shelf against the current ingredient restrictions. Which materials go onto your nails, under which rules and why those, is explained under the products we use.
What to expect
- A conversation first. Before we start we agree the shape, the length and the colour. If you bring a photograph, we will tell you honestly whether it can be done on your nails.
- An honest opinion. If we think a shorter length would serve you better, or that your nail is too damaged for a particular technique, we will say so.
- No surprises on price. The price is on the price list. If it turns out during the appointment that more is needed, we agree it with you before doing it.
- Clean tools. How we handle them is described under hygiene and sterilisation.
